Idlib-based Chechen-led jamaat Ajnad al-Kavkaz published a post on their Telegram channel on 1 January on the protests in Iran. I translated it as I was writing an analysis of it, and so I’m posting the translation here — it’s only short. It’s fascinating that such a short post can tell us so much about the worldview of this small group.
On the events in Iran
While we awaited the seizure of the initiative of the (empty) fridge on TV in Russian homes [the author is referring to an ongoing joke about the contrast between what Ajnad views as propaganda on Russian TV and the reality of economic problems in the country, symbolized by an empty fridge — he is basically saying that Ajnad were waiting for when this propaganda could no longer distract people’s attention from these issues, i.e. then people might protest – ed], this conflict suddenly turned into antigovernment demonstrations in Iran.
Allah said in the Quran:
Indeed, those who disbelieve spend their wealth to avert [people] from the way of Allah . So they will spend it; then it will be for them a [source of] regret; then they will be overcome. And those who have disbelieved – unto Hell they will be gathered.
Sura Al-Anfal, 36
Thus far, Iran has been striving to establish superiority in the Middle East, the center of the Islamic World, either directly, either through its Shi’ite-coreligionists from among the Iraqi Shi’ite groups, Lebanese Hezbollshaitans [Hizbollah] or the Houthis in Yemen. They have collected all the Shi’ite rabble from Afghanistan to Palestine and chucked them on the front lines of the war against Islam – in Syria. Of course, this necessitated huge expenses, which could not avoid harming living standards in their own country. Furthermore, by establishing a totalitarian regime at home, the Shi’ite mullahs counted on insuring themselves against any kind of opposition to their power, but the Almighty does what He pleases. Allah often provides his servants with a way out of difficult situations that they would not have imagined and we are again and again convinced that we cannot comprehend His knowledge and wisdom and we praise Him for everything.
Today, we see the events in Iran with guarded optimism and we hope that this will be the first step, if not towards the destruction of the Shi’ite powers, then at least towards the disorganization of their ranks, which are on the front lines of the anti-Islamic coalitions.
The mujahideen waging the toughest fights on the fronts in Hama and in Aleppo are trying to prevent the infidels from entering Idlib, one of the last and the main stronghold of the mujahideen in Syria, and are awaiting help and relief and we ask Allah to make the unrest in Iran the reason for the retreat of the Shi’ite hordes and their defeat, just as Allah upset the ranks of the polytheists during the Battle of the Trench, and turned them back.
And Allah is predominant over His affairs, but most of the people do not know
Sura Yusuf, 21
